In this post I wanted to share with you why I am thankful for Jesus. This will be ongoing because I continue to sin, it’s a part of my nature and Jesus continues to intercede for me. I am working like many people to flatten the curve of sin in my life but it’s a continual uphill battle. I can’t win. Can you relate? Living in a culture that promotes free expression and a “do what makes you happy mantra” is a constant challenge. I learned in the bible we all have a natural sinful nature that needs no introduction to doing wrong. My nature on its own is not holy.

If I were to stand before God and I tried to defend myself I could not stand and win my case. It is written: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23. There is overwhelming evidence I am guilty of sin and my wages and verdict are easily separation from God aka death. When you look at the courts today many people who are charged with wrongdoing have a defender and accuser. Some defenders are court-appointed and some are paid for. In my case, because I believe in Jesus I have him as my defender in God’s Supreme court to defend me. He will defend any who believe in him and this is why I am thankful for Jesus

Who is my accuser? Satan.

I continually realize his goal… to kill, steal, and destroy. When he stands before God and he says Steward sinned he did x,y,z, and his facts are accurate, I carried out those sins. I am guilty. This is why the Word teaches me to confess my sins to the Lord. It is because he is faithful and just to forgive my sins as said in John 1:1.

Satan doesn’t waste his time with those who are his because they are his and their future is secure with him in Gehenna. I don’t want to go there, do you? But those who want to be apart of God’s kingdom and live in the new heaven and earth… he’s going to do everything in his power to stop that from happening.

This was revealed to me: Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died–more than that, who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:34. Would you like for Jesus to defend you against Satan?

It was revealed to me if I believe in Jesus I have someone in the most powerful position in the heavens who defends me and he doesn’t lose any of his cases. Why? His blood, he shed his blood on the cross for all of those who believe in him. For their sins. Imagine being guilty of every sin that you committed and you’re acquitted because your advocate shed his blood on the cross for your sins. He took your place, took your guilt and made it his own. (Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!!)

What if people want to exercise their free will and not have Jesus defend them? The word teaches all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and since that is true they are guilty as charged. Trust me, receive Jesus as your Lord and savior and you’ll be acquitted of all your sins. From one sinner to another.

I am not a lawyer but I can say I understand the general principles of a court. You’re brought in because of a crime you committed and there is a judge, defender, and an accuser. You can choose to try to defend yourself (good luck with that) or you can have Jesus defend your case. Have Jesus defend your case, believe in him. This is the best tip of May 8th, 2020. Here is another awesome scripture from Hebrews 7:25: “Whence, also, He is able to save to the uttermost those coming to God through Him, always being alive to be pleading for their sake. ” This is reassuring good news if you put your faith in Jesus.

If you would like me to introduce you to Jesus this is how it goes:

Pray this prayer to the Lord in your heart like so:  “Lord, please forgive me a sinner. I come to your throne in your living son Jesus’ name asking for the forgiveness of my sins. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is your son, he died on the cross for my sins and was raised to life thus ensuring my salvation. He is my Lord, I acknowledge you as creator and Jesus as your living son. Please lead my life and show me how to be what you’ve called me to be, a son/daughter of you through Jesus. Amen.
