I watered and sowed, and God is making them grow!! #garden #greenthumb. Yep I have a garden going and its pretty major because I’ve never done it before. Like many of you I go to the grocery store to buy my fruits and veggies. I was Home Depot last year w my wife and we saw baby strawberry plants and was motivated to give it a go. We got some garden soil and I went to work.
Cool thing is farming is in my family’s background both on my grandma’s side and grandfathers. Shout out to Hazlehurst #farmland Being in Atlanta I didn’t think much about growing anything but there’s something in growing your own… semi independence. I’ve been watching several Youtube videos and doing my research on better practices when it comes to managing a garden. One of the things you have to look at is the PH level in the dirt you’re using as it relates to the thing you’re wanting to plant.
Since I am working on strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, rosemary, cilantro, watermelon, cantaloupe the soil has to be a combination of Garden soil and Georgia clay. I was told that clay when it is dry will draw all the nutrients from a plant so its good to mix the clay with soil. Here are some pictures of what all I am doing. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
This year I have begun growing corn, totally cool. I’ve never grown corn before and I’m pretty excited, check out the images below. Yep I’m a noob at it but I’m learning.
You ever wonder how things grow? Me too, I learned in the bible that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in the earth. In Genesis 2:9 it says And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so according to Pitt.edu
Though I can’t explain how things grow, rest assured God…the great “I AM”can, enjoy your weekend.
